"Complete Instrumentals & Chuck Tharp Vocals"

From Raton, New Mexico "The Fireballs" formed in 1957 to become early pioneers
of the guitar instrumental sound that was so very influential to budding musicians of the era.
Although commonly and erroneously referred to as "surf" guitar, George Tomsco's distinctive style
had a unique sound of its own, captured brilliantly by Norman Petty at his Clovis, New Mexico studio.

This release compiles all of the titles recorded by the group between 1958 and 1969
under their various monikers such as "Guitars Inc.", "George Tomsco & The Dots", "Lupe",
"The String-A-Longs" and 2 tracks by drummer Eric Budd under the alias of "Curly Whistle".

Also featured are unreleased Petty Studio demos by Chuck Tharp, and George Tomsco has dug
out the earliest recordings of the band that were recorded on acetate disc in the summer of 1958.

"This is the absolute best The Fireballs have ever sounded. Such clarity and low end I have never heard before.
You can hear Stan's bass.
I caught myself thinking "this sounds so good, is it really us!?
You really outdid yourself Shawn, I’m amazed !!!
I have to commend you on putting together an absolutely wonderful historical Norman Petty package out for us.
I don’t know anyone who could do what you are doing or have done such a masterpiece anywhere close to you
" ~ George Tomsco / The Fireballs

"This set is out of this world. It sounds fantastic - puts the previously released CDs to shame, and I thought they sounded good!"

it's great to have this all in one package. I had the previously released CDs, but I'll rebuy music when it's put together this well.

I know this was a labor of love, and I'm so glad you made it happen"

"The quality is far above what I had expected and I am so glad to see you doing what you are doing. Keep up the great work"

"Sound is indeed first class and the mastering likewise. My favourite is the Torquay album - it's the best that I've heard it.
Value for the money is very impressive"

"what a great treat this set has turned out to be!
I have spent several hours thoroughly enjoying the incredible music, personal nostalgia having seen the Fireballs when they played
the Gardens Ballroom here in Calgary in the early sixties, hearing the evolution of the musicians and noting the band’s
progression through different through different styles of music. Thank you for this marvelous journey in musical time"
